「疑問詞 + to + 原形動詞」會變成名詞片語，當作及物動詞的受詞：

 e.g. 1how to + 原形動詞：怎麼做∼Do you know how to operate this machine? (你知道要怎麼操作這台機器嗎？)

 e.g. 2what to + 原形動詞：∼什麼  I’ll tell you what to do. (我會告訴你要做什麼的。)

 e.g. 3when to + 原形動詞：什麼時候∼

        Could you ask the person in charge when to leave? (你能不能問一下負責人我們什麼時候要走？)

 e.g. 4where to + 原形動詞：哪裡∼  I asked the waiter where to pay my bill. (我問侍者要在哪裡付帳。)

 e.g. 5which to + 原形動詞：哪一個∼  I have no idea which to keep. (我不知道哪一個要留下來。)

＊補充說明：「what」與「which」

「what」與「which」除了直接加不定詞外，還可以當形容詞，後面加「名詞 + 不定詞」：

  what + 名詞 + 不定詞  I don’t know what food to eat. (我不知道要吃什麼食物 。)

  which + 名詞 + 不定詞  I don’t know which way to go. (我不知道要走哪條路。)
