2.     speak/ say/ tell/ talk

speak用法：

a 說某種語言

   E.g. He speaks English well. (他英語說得很好。)

b 發表演說

   E.g. I am speaking at dinner. (我正在晚宴中發表演說。)

c 慣用語

   E.g. Generally speaking, man is stronger than woman.

   (一般來說，男人比女人強壯。)

   E.g. Mary can read English, not to speak of French.

   (瑪麗會讀英文，法文更不用說了。)

say   用法：

a 說出某句話或某件事

    E.g. say hello (說哈囉)

b 名詞子句 (say與子句間不能有人)

    E.g. Peter says that he is busy. (彼得說他很忙。)

c 報紙、佈告

   E.g. The notice says, “No school on Wednesday.”

   (通告說「星期三停課」。)

d 慣用語

   E.g. It goes without saying that education is important.

   (不用說，教育是很重要的。)

   E.g. It is said that John is ill. (據說，約翰病了。)

   E.g. Strange to say, she was calm. (奇怪的是，她很平靜。)

tell   用法：

a 說實話/說謊

   E.g. It is wrong to tell a lie. (說謊是錯的。)

b 辨別 ( tell~from)

   E.g. Benson cannot tell right from wrong.

    (班森無法辨別是非。)

c 叫某人做某事

   E.g. He told me to study harder. (他要我更加用功。)

talk   用法：

a 連續地說話

   E.g. What were they talking about? (他們在聊什麼？)

b 慣用語

   E.g. We talked over the matter with her.

   (我們和她討論了那個問題。)
